I first went to Thailand in 1997 and immediately fell in love with the country. Thailand at that time to me was mysterious and exotic, full of potentials and pitfalls.
Fast forward to 2010 and here I am after 13 years and many trips to the LOS sharing, with the help of my Thai wife Golf, my experiences and knowledge with you here at Thailand Musings.
Thailand may have lost some mystery for me, but it is still exotic and wonderful and I will always remember that first feeling when I stepped out into the Bangkok smog for the first time.
I have yet to learn everything about Thailand and thankfully for all of us Golf is here to correct me when I err.

… But.. but.. the whole purpose of a zip code is to identify a region so that mail delivery is more efficient. What would be the point taking it with me? If I move from Khon Kaen to Kalasin and take my zip code, I might as well not have one.
Am I missing something?
That’s exactly what I thought too. How the heck will my mail find me if I have a Bangkok zip code, but I move to Tak? Obviously they won’t be using the zip code to find me anymore which will make it extraneous won’t it?
So, I won’t be getting my mail on time anymore (or at all maybe?), but I’ll have a prestigious zip code to show off
Who the heck shows off their zip code anyway? I know I’m not bringing my mail into work and showing all my co-workers my super duper zip code.
I must confess that this is the first time I heard about this even though I’m a Thai living in Thailand. (Y’sure this is not an April Fool prank?? Hehe.) But then, look who’s our PM — and MP’s — and you’ll wonder no more!!
