Most everything I’ve read about the Krungsri River Hotel has been good. The only downside appears to be the location…the hotel is on the opposite side of the river from Ayutthaya city, however there is a ferry just a few minutes walk away so not really a big problem.

The rooms are reported to be big and clean although the last review I read did complain about small cockroaches. Hopefully the hotel is on top of this and it won’t be a continuing issue. The staff is reported to be very friendly and helpful which is great. Another big plus is the hotels Italian restaurant which has been said to have really good Italian food at reasonable prices.

If you don’t mind being a bit away from the city center then this is a good inexpensive hotel to stay at. Great service and great food with a great price!

The above is the hotels description, what I’ve actually found from reviews is that the Ayothaya Riverside Hotel is worn out and old. The staff provides barely adequate service and for most issues will try to ignore you if possible. In addition, the hotel is on the wrong side of the river away from the attractions of Ayutthaya and in an old and less than desirable area of the city.

For just $5-10 a night more you can find a better place to stay while in Ayutthaya. The reviews I read are a few months old or older so if someone has a more recent positive experience with the Ayothaya Riverside Hotel please let us know.
